A tragic incident on the Otay Border left a community mourning as a 58-year-old male pedestrian lost his life in a fatal traffic accident yesterday. According to the San Diego Police Department, a collision occurred at the intersection of Avenida De La Fuente and Avenida Costa Este, where the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing an unmarked crosswalk.
The victim, identified only as P2, was navigating across the street when a 38-year-old male, driving a 2019 Toyota Tacoma, made a left turn onto Avenida Costa Este and collided with the pedestrian. Responders declared the pedestrian dead at the scene. The report clarified that DUI was not a factor in this devastating event, though the details of what led to such a fatal interaction remain under investigation.
