A tragic incident unfolded in a Coral Springs home this past Saturday when a woman was arrested and charged with premeditated murder. Denise Malcom, 45, is accused of shooting and killing a man inside a residence located on the 10500 block of Northwest 43rd Street. Responding to a 911 call made by a boy, Coral Springs police discovered the male victim, who has not been named, dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers had arrived at the scene around 6:30 p.m. and instructed two minors to leave the house. Following the youths' exit, a gunshot was heard before Malcom also exited the dwelling, as NBC Miami reported. Police Chief Bradley McKeone confirmed that a weapon was recovered at the scene.
As of now, details on the motive and circumstances leading to the shooting are sparse. "A man was found shot to death inside the home and a weapon was recovered," Chief McKeone said in a video announcement obtained by NBC Miami. Malcom is currently being held without bond as investigations continue.
While the identities of the juveniles involved have not been disclosed, their connection to either the victim or the suspect was not immediately clear from the Saturday shooting. According to reports from WSVN, after police heard the gunshot, a female, presumed to be Malcom, was seen exiting the home. Police are likely to provide further updates as more information is gathered.
