In a report from the Pacifica Police Department, a suspected case of drunk driving has led to the arrest of a Daly City man. The incident occurred last Saturday, resulting in a yellow Toyota FJ Cruiser crashing into a parked police vehicle on the 800 block of Palmetto Avenue. The same vehicle was found to have been involved in an earlier accident, hitting two parked cars near Shoreview Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene around 4:57 PM, they noted signs of intoxication from the driver, 62-year-old Jon Eugene Richardson, initiating a DUI investigation.
According to the Pacifica Police Department, no injuries were reported following the collisions. However, eyewitness accounts were critical in piecing together the events. These statements, collected by the officers at the scene, have led to believe Richardson was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Adding to the gravity of the situation is Richardson's history with DUI, as he is currently on probation for a previous conviction in this vein.
Richardson was subsequently taken into custody and has been charged under 23152(a) CVC for DUI. Post-arrest, he complained of pain and was transported to a nearby hospital for a medical evaluation.
