DeKalb County District 4 residents came together for Commissioner Steve Bradshaw's Annual Veterans Expo and Fellowship Lunch on Thursday. The event, held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tobie Grant Recreational Center, offered various services to support veterans and their families, according to DeKalb County's news release.

Commissioner Bradshaw, drawing from his military background, worked with the Atlanta VA HealthCare System and local groups like AMVETS Post 44 and Georgia Grace to provide veterans with vital information on housing, VA benefits, and wellness programs. "I appreciate the many partners who will be present to provide much-needed information and resources for veterans and their family members. I enjoy the fellowship with fellow veterans across generations," said Bradshaw, as per the DeKalb County's news release.

The event aimed to both share information and build camaraderie among veterans of all ages. After a distinguished military career, including tours in Germany and the Gulf War, Bradshaw's last role before retiring in 1993 was teaching leadership at the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School. Now a civil servant, his efforts continue to support fellow veterans.

The event also featured classic American food, with AMVET Post 44 grilling hot dogs and hamburgers. For more information, contact Robin Flieg via email at [email protected] or by phone at 404-371-4749. The gathering aimed to honor veterans and offer resources for life after service.
