Details emerge as a Detroit man faces numerous criminal charges for the 2022 death of Stefon Hodo, a retired Detroit police officer. As reported by the Detroit News, Erik Delano Davis, 30, is facing first-degree murder, first-degree home invasion, and additional gun-related offenses. According to Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy, Davis is also charged with the non-fatal shootings of two other individuals in Detroit.
On June 28, 2022, after arguing with Hodo, Davis allegedly killed the former officer. Then, he relocated his body before breaking into his home to steal his vehicle and handgun, as reported by CBS News. Following the initial crime, on June 30, Davis supposedly used the stolen handgun to shoot two people; a 39-year-old woman who was not injured and a 47-year-old man who sustained a gunshot wound to the hand.
These events led to a police investigation that ultimately resulted in the arrest of Davis on July 1, 2022. According to Audacy's report, the charges also encompass the discharge of a firearm in or at a building, the discharge of a firearm causing serious impairment, felon in possession of a firearm, and three counts of felony firearm.
