
The City of El Paso has filled its City Manager position with the appointment of Dionne Mack, who until recently served as the Deputy City Manager for Quality of Life. Mack steps into her new role with a promise to address community needs and engage residents in the governing process, following a diligent search process that concluded with her being the preferred candidate to lead the city's administration.
Outgoing Interim City Manager Cary Westin is passing the baton to Mack after his time at the helm, "I want to thank Col. Westin immensely for his dedication and service to El Paso during this critical time," said Mayor Oscar Leeser, as per the City of El Paso, praising both leaders for their commitment to the city.
Leeser highlighted Mack's dedication to improving El Paso's quality of life, hinting at a continued trajectory toward enhancing the city’s services under her leadership, "Her experience and vision for our City makes her the right choice to guide El Paso into a bright and prosperous future," he noted, as cited by the City of El Paso. Mack's roles in advancing public access to parks and community programs demonstrate her hands-on experience with on-ground civic needs and projects.
Mack herself expressed her gratitude and commitment, "My lived experiences, education, and professional background have uniquely prepared me to serve as your next City Manager," she said, as detailed by the City of El Paso. Mack reiterated her intentions to build strong connections with both city officials and residents, emphasizing the importance of community input in her approach to governance. "I firmly believe that the best solutions come from within the community, and your voices are not just important, but invaluable," Mack conveyed, suggesting a collaborative path forward for El Paso's administration and its citizens.
