Boston police officers arrested a Dorchester man on gun and drug possession charges last night. Anthony Cooper-Hall, 19, was apprehended after police responded to a call about a disturbance involving a large group on 95 Fowler Street, according to a report from the Boston Police Department.
Upon arriving at the scene around 7:51 PM, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) encountered a crowd, with a subgroup observed drinking alcoholic beverages on the sidewalk. Officers could see a discarded backpack under a bench, hastily left by the smaller group who tried to separate from the scene when the police arrived, says the BDP report.
The authorities conducted a search of the backpack and recovered a Glock 43, loaded with nine rounds and a laser sight, and also seized four plastic bags of marijuana, two scales, and $320 in cash. The BPD shared that the backpack contained an RMV letter with Cooper-Hall’s name, leading to his detainment.
Charges against Cooper-Hall include Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Ammunition, a Large Capacity Firearm, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D. His arraignment has been scheduled at the Dorchester District Court, following the incident under a bench, a backpack was discovered by the police.
