
Early Wednesday morning, a residential blaze drew the attention of Memphis fire crews to a house fire in East Memphis. A call reporting the incident was received around 5 a.m., leading to a response at North Mendenhall Road and Lorece Avenue. Action News 5 reached out to the Memphis Fire Department for additional details about the origin of the fire, but those details have yet to be disclosed.
Memphis Police were called to manage traffic flow but struggled to quickly contain the resulting congestion. A FOX13 crew observed a significant gathering of emergency responders upon arrival at the scene.
The severity of the fire was evident as an abc24 photographer captured footage of firefighters dedicatedly attempting to quench the flames that voraciously consumed the house.
