According to an announcement made earlier this month, the 2024 Citywide Open House is slated for Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Eden Prairie City Center and Fire Station #1, marking a unique opportunity for community members to engage with their local Police, Fire, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation departments. The event, free to all, showcases a range of vehicles and programs vital to the city's daily operations.
The day promises to be packed with demonstrations, including a showcase of the Police Department’s two K-9 teams, while the SWAT team, negotiators, Crime Tech Unit, and drone team also feature among the highlights, in a range of interactive and informative displays designed to provide residents with an insight into the tactical workings of Eden Prairie's finest. Tours of the jail and visits to the dispatch center are on the docket as well, according to the official bulletin on Eden Prairie’s website.
