A man was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility for an attempted burglary that took a violent turn earlier this year. According to a press release from the El Paso Police Department, the incident, which culminated in a shooting, occurred on June 22nd on the 4800 block of Tholos. The individual, identified as Poblano, was found in the street suffering from a gunshot wound after reportedly engaging in a verbal altercation with a resident.
During the confrontation, the resident fired their weapon, claiming self-defense, which resulted in Poblano’s injury. As reported by the City of El Paso, upon responding to the scene, police transported Poblano to a nearby hospital where he was initially listed in critical but stable condition. Detectives from the Crimes Against Persons unit were reportedly brought in to assist with the investigation.
The subsequent police investigation revealed that before the shooting, Poblano had approached the victim's house and rang the doorbell. What transpired next led to the attempted burglary charge against Poblano. He was eventually taken into custody on August 26 by the US Marshal Lone Star Fugitive Task Force after a Capias for Attempt to Commit Burglary of Habitation was issued, denoting the serious nature of the alleged crime.
