El Paso's DeadBeach Brewery is raising the glass high to celebrate its partnership with UTEP Athletics by launching its very own Miner Brew, an official craft beer tailored for fans of the University of Texas at El Paso Miners. Starting this week, the Blonde Ale will be available for the first time at Miner Palooza and at the UTEP football home game on Friday, September 6th.

In what is a first for the brewery and the university, DeadBeach has brewed a concoction that aims to capture the spirit of UTEP. "We wanted to make a beer that would resonate with any beer drinker in our community; a Blonde Ale is known for its crisp, traditional taste. We made sure that the ABV on the beer was low so that it could be enjoyed through the games with ease," Gabriel Montoya, founder and head brewer of DeadBeach, said as obtained by KTSM.

The Miner Brew touted as a 4.1% ABV crushable Blonde Ale, represents an effort to offer a refreshing beer that won't knock fans off their feet before the fourth quarter. As excitement builds, DeadBeach's new facility which was part of the conversation back in 2021 when the partnership with UTEP Athletics began seems to be at full throttle to meet the expected demand. "We began discussing brewing this beer, which could be mass-produced in our new facility," said DeadBeach Brewery founder and owner Jason Hunt, as per KVIA. "Now that our facility is open, and pumping out beer cans, we were able to make this dream beer a reality."

Fans eager to get a taste of the Miner Brew will have plenty of opportunity to do so. DeadBeach will be offering tastings at both the Miner Palooza and the home game for a chance to sip on the hometown pride. Also, "we hope to have every beer drinker swing by our tent at these events and taste Miner Brew so they can get a glimpse of what beer made with real grain, hops, yeast, and El Paso water is really like," Montoya said, as noted by KFOX-TV. And for those not attending the locally beloved brewery ensures that future UTEP games and DeadBeach's tavern will be well-stocked.
