Residents in El Paso can look forward to a warm and mostly sunny week according to the latest National Weather Service report. With clear skies dominating the forecast, temperatures are expected to reach highs comfortably into the 90s over the next few days. Today, locals can expect the thermometer to inch up near 96 degrees, with a slight north wind shifting south in the afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, a pattern of partly cloudy skies will set in, and the low will drop to around 72 degrees tonight. The wind will stay consistent, coming in from the south at a gentle 6 to 9 mph. Similarly, Sunday promises plentiful sunshine with a high near 95, and a gentle south-southeast breeze. NWS advises that Sunday night will stick to the trend, with another low around 72 degrees, and the south wind will continue, becoming east in the evening.
Starting Monday, however, there's a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, though the likelihood does not surge past 20 percent. Despite this, the day will remain mostly sunny with a high anticipated to be near 93 degrees, and winds picking up some speed from the southeast at 6 to 10 mph. Monday night, the chance of precipitation picks up slightly to 30 percent before midnight, and the low will hover around the same 72-degree mark, with the wind switching directions from south-southwest to west-northwest in the evening.
The rest of the week seems to herald the return of more settled weather. Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunny with the mercury hitting just over 90 degrees, while the nights will bring cooler temperatures, dropping into the high 60s. As winds continue to gust as high as 20 mph on Tuesday, they're expected to lighten by Wednesday night. Following suit, Thursday and Friday will be sunny, with consistent highs near 91 and 89 degrees, respectively, and continued clarity overnight as per the report published by NWS on September 14th.
