Tragedy struck Fallbrook last night when a Hispanic male adult was found lying in front of a residence with severe trauma to his torso. According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office, the call came in at about 8:25 p.m. Deputies responded to the 900 block of Alturas Road following a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

The first responders were quick to the scene, only to discover the victim in a dire state. The North County Fire Department provided immediate assistance, transporting him to the hospital where, despite best efforts to save his life, he passed away. The identity of the man remains withheld, as authorities are waiting for an identification from the Medical Examiner's Office before releasing any further information.
