Commuters in Fayette County will experience a temporary inconvenience as the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced a road closure affecting the McDonough Rd Bridge over the Flint River. This disruption will begin on September 28 and is expected to last until October 11, as contractors conduct essential soil borings for bridge design, a vital step in maintaining infrastructure integrity.
The closure will be limited to one lane, intended to minimize the impact on daily travel from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those living in the vicinity and the businesses that serve them, rest assured, will not be cut off, for traffic control measures are put in place to guide you to your destinations.
