A woman in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, required hospitalization after an assault during an apparent home invasion yesterday afternoon. As reported by NBC Boston, Fitchburg police were summoned to a residence on Blossom Street at approximately 4:13 p.m., where the victim reported that an unidentified man and woman had entered her apartment and attacked her. Following treatment, she has since been discharged from the hospital.
While the relationship between the attackers and the victim remains uncertain, authorities maintain that these particular events pose no threat to the general public. In the days preceding the invasion, police received reports of three men acting suspiciously at the same location, yet it is undetermined whether there is a connection to the Thursday incident. The Fitchberg Police Department's investigation is actively underway, as they continue their search for the suspects involved.
A closer examination of the incident, labeled as targeted by the police, indicates a focused threat rather than a random act of violence. Boston 25 News reports that first responders attended to the victim, who was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
The Fitchburg Police are reaching out to the community for assistance. They encourage anyone with information about a the incident to contact the Fitchburg Detective Bureau at 978-345-9650.
