In a recent turn of somber events, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has apprehended a former Haralson County deputy on multiple charges, including child molestation. Thomas Roberts, age 30, from Cedartown, GA, was arrested and is facing serious allegations of Child Molestation, Aggravated Sodomy, and Incest, according to a press release from the GBI.

The GBI initiated the inquiry after being called in by the Polk County Police Department last year. The investigation, which began on November 10, 2023, stems from allegations related to an incident in Cedartown. In the course of the investigation, and upon the culmination of the evidence gathered, officers from Haralson County transported Roberts to Polk County, where he was then booked into the local jail.

While the inquiry into Roberts' conduct is described as "active and ongoing," the GBI is reaching out to the public for further information that might aid the investigation.
