The Franklin Police Department added a new badge to their ranks with the swearing-in of former Metro Nashville police officer, Avery Irwin. In a ceremony held at police headquarters on Thursday afternoon, Police Chief Deb Faulkner officially welcomed Irwin in front of his family and friends, marking a new chapter for the officer and the community he has chosen to serve.
Irwin hails from the outskirts of Chicago and holds a criminal justice degree from Michigan State University. His move to Franklin Police comes after nearly two years on the beat in Nashville. Irwin shared his affinity for his new home, saying, “My parents now live in Franklin. I immediately fell in love with this beautiful and safe community,” reflecting his deepening roots in the area.
The officer's transition to Franklin is not just a professional shift but a personal investment. As he plans to build a life with his fiancé in the locale he's come to appreciate, the values of the community resonate with his aspirations. “After my first visit here, I knew I wanted to live in this area with my fiancé and work for the esteemed Franklin Police Department,” Irwin expressed.
