Cycling enthusiasts, mark your calendars because the El Tour de Tucson is revving up for another round, and there's a pre-ride fiesta you won't want to miss. This September, Tucson's Chuck Huckelberry Loop will host the Loop the Loop event as a warm-up to the big race, welcoming participants on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 7 a.m. to noon. It's a day to rub elbows with fellow bikers, explore Tucson on two wheels, and snag a bit of swag for the ride ahead.
The Pima County Department of Attractions & Tourism is throwing their full support behind the event. They plan to not only facilitate a meet-and-greet with El Tour's nonprofit partners along the Loop but also to distribute free maps that highlight the scenic art installations dotted around the course. "Our main goal here is to promote the Loop," Michelle Flanagan told the Pima County Newsroom. Cyclists can pick up these insightful guides for a more enriching ride.
For those who can't wait to gear up, the merchandise is also available at the Southern Arizona Heritage and Visitor Center Gift Shop and online at the Loop Store. "We have a fun, new, exciting fall-based design," Catherine Campbell disclosed to the Pima County Newsroom, adding that the design has been a commercial success with minimal promotion since its recent launch.
