
In a recent development following an armed robbery and carjacking incident in Gilroy, local police have made an arrest. The incident, which occurred on the evening of August 27, involved multiple suspects who confronted and robbed a victim seated in his car on the 7400 block of Railroad Street, according to the Gilroy Police Department.
The victim's vehicle was later found abandoned on Walnut Lane, with the suspects initially evading capture. Through the ongoing efforts of the Gilroy Police Department’s Investigations Unit, a breakthrough was achieved when detectives identified a suspect believed to be connected to the crime. On Wednesday, the Gilroy/Morgan Hill SWAT team executed a search warrant in the 7500 block of Alexander Street, where they apprehended a 16-year-old male.
The juvenile suspect has been booked into the Santa Clara County Juvenile Detention Center as part of the ongoing investigation. Details about the case remain scant, but the arrest marks a significant step forward in a case that has likely unsettled the local community.
