Goodyear's own city council member, Wally Campbell, has garnered the West Valley Women Networking Association’s 2024 Woman of the Year award, a commendation that spotlights women who have made significant contributions to the community through leadership, vision, and relentless service.
“I am deeply honored to receive this recognition," Campbell told the City of Goodyear, "While I never expect rewards for my community work, this is especially meaningful and special because it is from an organization I hold so dear.” Her tenure on the council began back in 2011, and since then, her involvement has spread across a multitude of local institutions and initiatives.
Her resume boasts roles including but not limited to serving on the board for the Southwest Valley Chamber of Commerce, guiding as President of the Friends of the Library-Goodyear branch, leading as a director at the Historic Litchfield Station Foundation, amongst other notable positions. She exhibits a commitment to civic engagement that extends beyond any single organization, as she also contributes to the Southwest Valley Business/Education Advisory Committee, the All Faith Community Services Board of Directors, and is a proud member of the West Valley Human Services Alliance and Goodyear White Tanks Rotary Club.
