The Commission is notable for its work in establishing and enforcing fire service standards across the state, as well as providing educational resources and assistance to fire service entities.
Brandon Wade brings to the table a depth of experience from his tenure as the fire chief in Corpus Christi and a diverse portfolio from his previous role as an assistant chief with the Austin Fire Department, his 24 years of dedication to fire service manifests through his numerous associations with firefighter organizations, including his former involvement with Texas A&M Task Force One and the Capital Area Council of Governments Homeland Security Task Force. Furthermore, his academic accomplishments include an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science and a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management, as reported by the Office of the Texas Governor.
On the other side, Daniel Buford's career with the fire service extends beyond his current position as a lieutenant at the Bryan Fire Department to his past service with the Northeast Volunteer Fire Department, he holds a position of influence as president of the Bryan Fire Fighters Association as well as serving as a district service representative for the International Association of Fire Fighters, and with an educational background of an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science, his expertise is bound to augment the Commission's capabilities.
