The incident, which unfolded late last night, left two individuals with life-threatening injuries, one being the suspect and the other an unidentified victim. San José Police Department confirmed the details of the violent encounter on social media, painting a grim picture of the event's aftermath.

The officers arrived at the scene swiftly upon receiving distressing calls from the public. The armed suspect was confronted by at least one officer discharging their firearm and was taken into custody before further harm could unfold. The suspect suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. Meanwhile, continuing the investigation, the gun violence victim, having been dropped off at another local hospital, also struggles with life-threatening injuries.
The SJPD urges anyone who might have been in the area or witnessed the shooting to come forward with information. Law enforcement authorities are calling upon people to steer clear from the impacted area to allow for an uninterrupted investigation.
