A serious ATV crash in the Town of Hartford resulted in life-threatening injuries for a 46-year-old man on Friday night. The incident, which occurred at the intersection of Arthur Road and County Highway U, involved a single ATV and no other vehicles, as reported by FOX6 News.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office disclosed that a passerby alerted them to the crash at around 8:53 p.m., and rescue crews from the Hartford Fire Department were the first to arrive at the scene. According to the accounts by Washington County Insider, the injured man was airlifted to Aurora Medical Center Summit for emergency care, his condition at the time of transport was stable.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. However, the involvement of alcohol appears to be a contributing factor in the incident, as TMJ4 detailed.
During the investigation following the crash, a section of Arthur Road east of County Highway U was closed for approximately one-and-a-half hours. This closure was to allow authorities to examine the site and collect evidence. The ATV, found upright in a ditch.
