Hialeah firefighters demonstrated their skills beyond firefighting by delivering a baby girl. On Wednesday, the crew from Hialeah Fire Rescue Station 4 responded to a call about a woman in sudden labor, according to a report by WSVN.
Realizing they couldn't reach the hospital in time, the Hialeah firefighters quickly performed the delivery on the scene. The Hialeah Fire Department’s Instagram noted that they acted immediately when they saw the mother was about to give birth. Despite the unusual situation and pressure, the firefighters successfully delivered a healthy baby, named Baby Soy. Both the mother and newborn were then taken to the hospital for further care.
The city's fire department, operational since 1925, continues to serve the community through diverse challenges, medical emergencies included. In an accompanying caption, the firefighters humbly termed the experience as #servingthecommunity. Both mother and child are reported to be doing well.
