
Authorities in Queen Creek are conducting an investigation after a person was found dead in the aftermath of a house fire that occurred over the weekend. As reported by FOX 10 Phoenix, the blaze took place near Hunt Highway and Power Road on Saturday, Sept. 21.
The fatal incident was responded to by both the Queen Creek Police and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office. The latter stated that after the fire had been brought under control, a body was discovered within the home. There are currently detectives en route to properly begin to investigate the cause and circumstances of the death inside the burned residence.
According to a later update given to 12 News, the Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department had initially responded to the fire call for a house located at the 26600 block of South 187th Street, which is in the vicinity of the earlier mentioned cross streets. It was shortly thereafter that the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office disclosed the finding of the deceased individual.
The current status of the investigation remains closely held, with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office stating to 12 News, "Nothing else is known about this incident at this time." This ongoing investigation suggests that more information will emerge as detectives sift through the evidence and determine the sequence of events that led to the tragic discovery.
