A man was airlifted with injuries after his motorcycle collided with a deer on a Morrison County road, local authorities say. According to the Morrison County Sheriff's Office, 39-year-old Nickolas Erickson of Isanti, MN, was riding his motorcycle northbound on Sage Road, near 133rd Street when the accident occurred.
The crash took place on August 30, around 7:19 pm, in the vicinity of Hillman, MN, three miles southeast to be exact in Mount Morris Township. Erickson, who was found injured at the scene, was subsequently airlifted by North Air Care to St. Cloud Hospital. His current condition has not been made public, and it was reported that Erickson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision with the deer.
Responding agencies included the Morrison County Sheriff's Office, which received the initial report of the accident and was assisted on the scene by several local departments. The Pierz Police Department, Pierz Fire Department, Pierz First Response Team, North Air Care, and Onamia Ambulance worked collaboratively in the emergency response effort.
