The Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) has taken a juvenile into custody following a series of alarming threats made on social media against schools in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The SPPD, with cooperation from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS), has been thoroughly investigating these threats. According to a statement on the SPPD's official Facebook page, the suspect admitted to making the threats but allegedly lacked both the means and the intent to execute them. "These threats are something we take very seriously," the SPPD stated.

While the current assessment suggests there is no ongoing threat, officials have noted the uncertainty around whether this individual acted alone. "We will continue to work with our law enforcement and school partners to ensure safety at all our schools," SPPD announced.
As the situation unfolds, SPPD emphasizes that the safety of school communities remains their top priority. They are set to closely monitor, alongside their partners, to promptly identify and address any new threats should they arise. The police department encourages the public to always report suspicious activities or threats, to help to continue to provide a safe environment for learning. "Thank you to all those who said something when they saw these posts," the SPPD further expressed.
