Last Saturday morning, San Bruno Police Department (SBPD) officers stumbled upon a group of individuals allegedly breaking into vehicles along Shelter Creek Lane. The event escalated quickly, with the suspects attempting to escape in a stolen vehicle, resulting in a high-speed chase spanning multiple cities and involving various law enforcement agencies.
According to the San Bruno Police Department, the pursuit kicked off around 3 AM when an officer on routine patrol noticed the suspected vehicle burglars. The ensuing chase drew additional support from the Daly City Police Department as it surged toward the Bay Bridge. There, officers from the CHP San Francisco were poised with spike strips in an attempt to put an end to the pursuit. The chase concluded with the vehicle losing control and crashing in Oakland.
In the aftermath of the crash, the suspects, reported as three juveniles, tried to flee on foot but were quickly apprehended by authorities. Once in custody, the trio was booked into the San Mateo County Youth Services Center. It is reported that the stolen vehicle contained an array of tools suspected to be used in vehicle thefts and stolen license plates.
