Yesterday afternoon, the Knoxville Fire Department responded to a fire at the Retreat Massage and Skin Care Center located on Tazewell Pike. The WVLT report detailed that upon arrival, fire crews observed heavy smoke issues emanating from the rear of the shopping center.
A fire was located in a hallway space. Crews managed to quickly extinguish the flames. The business, which was not open or occupied at the time of the incident, "has suffered moderate, fire, smoke and water damage," Knoxville Fire Department stated, as per WVLT. Surrounding businesses in the building also sustained moderate smoke damage, as noted in the same report.
Thankfully, there were no injuries reported about the blaze. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire. This ongoing investigation seeks to unravel whether the origin of the fire points to accidental or intentional circumstances, with findings yet to be disclosed to the public, as per WBIR.
