
The National Weather Service in Knoxville issued a brisk forecast for the upcoming week, with mostly sunny skies and high temperatures hovering in the mid-80s. As per the latest update on September 14th, residents can expect an east breeze to accompany the sunshine, spiking up to gusts of 20 mph.
However, a Wind Advisory is effective for the eastern Tennessee mountains and foothills until Saturday morning. The NWS warns of "east to southeast winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph" that could pose potential hazards. Tonight, the Knoxville area is slated to dip to a cool 67 degrees under partly cloudy skies, carrying on with a northeast wind of 5 to 10 mph, according to NWS.
Sunday promises more sun with temperatures peaking near 86, and the evening settling down to a low around 65. As the new week rolls in, there's a slight chance of showers on Monday afternoon, with the rest of the day remaining mostly sunny and highs nearing 84 degrees.
Looking ahead to Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather pattern holds steady, featuring mostly sunny days with a slim chance for afternoon showers and nighttime lows just above 60 degrees. A mostly clear Thursday night preludes yet another sunny Friday with thermometers climbing back up to 86. The NWS's Hazardous Weather Outlook also notes the remnants of Francine could keep the winds gusty through Sunday morning, but they are expected to remain below advisory levels across most locations.
