On the quiet county roads of Lake Crystal, a grave motorcycle accident left two injured on the afternoon of September 7th. According to the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office, the incident involved Douglas George Pelzel, 75, and Denise Ann Walter, 60, both hailing from Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Pelzel, piloting a 1996 Harley Davidson with Walter as a passenger, reportedly lost control and veered off the roadway on County Road 6 near County Road 102.

The emergency call mobilized a swift response from deputies, the MN State Patrol, Mayo Ambulance, Lake Crystal Ambulance, and Courtland Fire Department. Riding without helmets, the couple sustained severe injuries. Tragically, a helicopter had to airlift Pelzel in critical condition, while ambulances rushed Walter to the hospital, beset with serious injuries, as reported by the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office.
