The City's Parks and Recreation Department has announced that it will be offering swimming lessons for all ages this fall, starting from October 3rd through October 25th, at two locations, the Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center and the Las Cruces Natatorium. According to the City of Las Cruces, classes are scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays and will encompass eight sessions per division.
For those looking to get their feet wet literally, there's a class tailored for every skill level and age, from the Parent and Me sessions aimed at toddlers to adult swim classes designed for older beginners. Those interested in enrolling their children or themselves can expect to pay $45 for Parent and Me, Level 1, and Level 2 courses, while Level 3, Level 4, and adult lessons will set you back $60. Timing for the 30-minute children's classes and the hour-long adult sessions will be disclosed upon registration.
Registration is set for the morning of Saturday, September 28th, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the Las Cruces Regional Aquatic Center, located at 1401 E. Hadley Ave. Swim evaluations, which are mandatory for anyone wishing to register for levels 2 or higher without a Red Cross completion card, will be conducted from September 24-27, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. It's worth noting that evaluations won't be available during registration times and that class space is limited, emphasizing the need to sign up sooner rather than later.
