Las Cruces is gearing up for a grand-scale community effort to ensure the city looks its absolute best. The Toss No Mas cleanup event, organized by the City’s Keep Las Cruces Beautiful Program, is calling upon residents to come together for a day of shared commitment to environmental wellness on October 12th. Enthusiasm to join is welcomed, with volunteers of all walks encouraged to register and make a difference according to the City of Las Cruces.
Keep Las Cruces Beautiful (KLCB), in collaboration with civic players like Keep Dona Ana County Beautiful, the Town of Mesilla, the South-Central Solid Waste Authority, and the New Mexico Department of Transportation, recognizes the necessity of community action in maintaining the splendor of our local spaces. Individual participants, groups, and businesses can all contribute, enhancing the place they call home and fostering a spirit of unity.
To ensure the success of the event, KLCB has arrangements in place to equip volunteers with the necessary supplies. Between October 7 and 10, these can be collected from the Frank O’Brien Papen Community Center located at 304 W. Bell Ave, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Participation is not just about the act of cleaning, it’s an investment in our environment, health, and community aesthetics, as noted by the City of Las Cruces.
Toss No Mas not only strives to purify our surroundings but also promotes a deeper consciousness regarding the environmental impact of our daily actions. Participating in this event signifies a commitment to continual improvement and an acknowledgment that every individual has a role to play in creating a more beautiful, sustainable Las Cruces. As the date approaches, organizers anticipate a strong showing of local pride, with the cleanup volunteering serving as a powerful testament to the community's resilience and solidarity.
