Lewisville residents seeking assistance with home repairs and community enhancements are in luck. The Neighborhood Services department is hosting a free workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 15 at the Queen Margaret Community Center. The session, slated for 6:30 p.m., will address the City of Lewisville's programs offering funding for homeowner repair work and grants for neighborhood projects.
According to the City of Lewisville, three grant opportunities will be the workshop's focus: the Property Enhancement Program, Love Your Block, and the Neighborhood Enhancement Program. Each initiative supports various home or community improvement projects, providing financial aid to eligible residents and neighborhood groups. This workshop will provide attendees with detailed information on the grant application process and introduce other resources available throughout the county.
The Property Enhancement Program helps homeowners fund exterior repairs by offering a 50 percent matching grant rebate, capping at a certain dollar amount. On the other hand, Love Your Block encourages community building with a $500 reimbursable mini-grant, supporting activities ranging from neighborhood parties to the cultivation of shared gardens.
For more expansive efforts, the Neighborhood Enhancement Program matches grants of up to $12,500 for projects that beautify neighborhoods. This grant can subsidize improvements like entryway features, neighborhood sign toppers, the formation of a Neighborhood Emergency Response Team, or park upgrades.
