Firefighters swiftly contained a blaze at a Reseda home on the evening of September 11, as reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire, which broke out in a one-story, single-family dwelling located at 17950 W Cohasset St, was showing heavy smoke from one side when crews arrived at approximately 8:38 PM, according to an LAFD alert. The alert also noted that all occupants had safely evacuated the residence and that no neighboring structures were at risk.
In a display of efficient response, 30 firefighters were able to quickly identify and extinguish the fire within 14 minutes, preventing it from spreading into the attic of the home. The LAFD stated that "firefighters are in the offensive mode" as they worked to control the flames. No injuries were reported from the incident, and both primary and secondary searches of the home came back clear, confirming no individuals were inside or harmed, according to a follow-up release.
The fire did not pose a threat to extend to adjacent properties and was successfully knocked down by 8:52 PM. The coordinated effort involved multiple units including Battalion Chiefs 15 and 17, Engines 100, 103, 273, 290, and 73, along with Rescue Ambulances 100 and 903, and Truck companies 73 and 90, as listed in the LAFD alert.
