A man is dead following a shooting that occurred on Friday afternoon in the Gamewell community of Caldwell County. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting after receiving a call at approximately 4:26 p.m., where the found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, detailed by WCNC. The victim, whose identity has not been publically shared, subsequently died from his injuries.
The events leading up to this tragic outcome stemmed from a dispute between acquaintances, as confirmed by officials. The investigation, still underway, has thus far revealed that the altercation escalated to lethal violence.
