A distressing scene unfolded at a Rockwood High School football game on Friday when a man was arrested after he reportedly attempted to grab two girls. According to WVLT, the Roane County Sheriff’s Office has charged the man with two counts of simple assault.
The incident, which took place behind visitors' bleachers, was brought to light after two female juveniles reported a man reaching through the fence and grabbing one of them by the arm. These events prompted a swift response by a school resource officer and local law enforcement, which included the Rockwood police and Tennessee Highway Patrol. The suspect was apprehended while he attempted to flee through a nearby neighborhood.
The suspect, identified by the Roane County Sheriff’s Office as 38-year-old Oscar Livingston Jr., was charged and held in custody. According to the sheriff's office, his arraignment has occurred, and his bond was set at $20,000, as detailed by WBIR.
While troubling, the incident did not result in physical harm to the girls, and authorities, including RCSO Chief Deputy Tim Hawn, highlighted there was no indication that Livingston previously knew the victims, nor was there evidence of further criminal intent.
