A serious single-vehicle accident resulted in a man being critically injured after his vehicle crashed through a fence in north Shelby County early Tuesday morning. According to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO), the incident occurred shortly after 7:30 a.m. on Brunswick Road. The victim was ejected from his car following the crash and was transported to Regional One Hospital in critical condition, as reported by Action News 5.
The crash involved a maroon Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X which left the road and ran through a residential fence. FOX13 Memphis released a video showing the damaged Jeep loaded onto the back of a tow truck, with the remnants of the white fence visible in a field behind. The SCSO has yet to specify what may have led to the crash.
Details provided by the ShelbyTNSheriff Twitter page indicated that SCSO traffic investigators arrived on the scene at about 7:40 am at the 8700 block of Brunswick Road. The Sheriff's office confirmed that the vehicle had indeed veered off the roadway before colliding with the fence and ejecting its driver, now being cared for in the critical care unit.
