Early Tuesday morning, a man was critically wounded in a shooting incident on American Way in the vicinity of the Memphis airport. The shooting occurred around 6:00 a.m., as per Memphis police who responded to the alarm. The WREG reports that upon arrival, authorities discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the 2600 block of American Way.
Subsequently, the victim was transported to Regional One Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, a statement obtained by Action News 5 detailed the extent of the man's injuries. An ambulance was observed at the scene, near a gas station on the corner of American Way and Getwell, where the shooting is believed to have taken place, reported by a FOX13 crew.
The Memphis Police Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and as of now, no suspect information has been released.
