
Early this morning, violence erupted in the lobby of the La Quinta Inn in Springdale, resulting in one man's death, FOX19 reported. The Springdale Police Department received multiple emergency calls at around 2:15 a.m. concerning gunshots and screams coming from the hotel, situated on Springfield Pike.
Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered the man deceased. The responsible party, as yet unidentified, had already taken flight in what is believed to be a dark-colored Nissan hatchback, police said, and surveillance footage from the hotel, equipped with state-of-the-art cameras, is being analyzed to aid the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, hotel staff is left unnerved by the frightful happening, Springdale Police Chief Tom Butler shared his insights, stating, "It’s nerve-racking, you come in and you discover somebody’s deceased in your lobby," as he confirmed in a statement obtained by FOX19.
Details concerning the events leading to the shooting remain sparse, and no further description of the suspect has been made public at this point. The suspect's vehicle, however, has been described as dark blue or black, and law enforcement officials hold out hope that footage from the hotel’s surveillance setup will yield crucial clues, as mentioned in reports from WLWT.
