In an incident early yesterday morning, a man lost his life in a tragic accident involving an ambulance near Centennial Hills Hospital. At approximately 1:34 a.m. on September 4, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports that a pedestrian, whose identity is still being withheld, was found lying in the private drive of Centennial Hills Hospital at 6900 North Durango Drive, moments before being struck by an oncoming ambulance.

The ambulance, part of the Las Vegas Fire Department fleet, was en route to the hospital, heading south through the property before making the turn into the ambulance bay where the collision took place. Despite immediate attention by emergency medical staff, including transport into the nearby hospital for critical treatment, the man's injuries proved fatal, and he was later pronounced dead. According to a statement released by the LVMPD, the pedestrian's tragic passing marks the 102nd traffic-related fatality within their jurisdiction in 2024. The driver of the ambulance, identified as 32-year-old Kyle Brigman, from Henderson, NV, and his passenger, 56-year-old Ricardo Vidal, from Mesquite, NV, were unharmed.

Investigative efforts by the Collision Investigation Section of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are ongoing, aimed at piecing together the circumstances that led to this unfortunate event.
