
A deadly incident on the rails shook the community of San Diego this weekend. According to The San Diego County Sheriff's Office, a North County Transit District Coaster train struck and killed a man last Friday night near Moreno Boulevard. The victim, whose identity remains unreleased pending family notification by the Medical Examiner's Office, succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
The collision reported at approximately 10:25 pm, prompted a swift response from local law enforcement and fire departments. The Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit (TEU) is now leading the investigation into the accident, as they typically handle incidents associated with the transit routes of the North County Transit District. The TEU is looking into the circumstances that led to the tragic event, and an autopsy will establish the official cause and manner of death.
