A man was discovered on fire this Thursday morning near a Walgreens in Sunrise, and authorities confirmed he died following the incident. As reported by Local 10, the Sunrise Police Department and fire rescue responded to the area on the corner of University Drive and Oakland Park Boulevard, where they found the victim already engulfed in flames.
Efforts to put out the fire were unsuccessful, and the man unfortunately did not survive. Authorities are now investigating to understand how the fire started. Investigators are speaking with local business owners and looking for surveillance footage that might show what happened.
