The event, which has been classified as especially aggravated robbery, occurred at the Quick Mart located at 4000 Raleigh Millington Road. According to police, the robbery attempt left one man with a gunshot wound to the neck. Details provided by the authorities describe the victim as simply inspecting items for potential purchase at the front of the store when two unknown assailants entered. The statement obtained by Action News 5 says one of the suspects crept behind the victim, attempting to remove the handgun from his waistband, which led to a physical struggle.
During this confrontation, one of the suspects brandished his firearm and discharged one shot, striking the victim in the neck area. "The victim tried to fight back, but one of the suspects pulled out a weapon in retaliation and fired one shot," the report detailed. Subsequently, both suspects were seen fleeing in a northbound direction from the Quick Mart. The investigation remains active, as police have yet to make any arrests related to the incident.
