A violent altercation at Henderson Sports Complex in Mountain View escalated to gunfire yesterday, leaving a 37-year-old man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the head. The San Diego Police Department reports that the victim was transported to the hospital following the incident, which occurred in the complex's parking lot at approximately 4:28 PM.
Witnesses at the scene described a heated argument between two groups preceding the shooting. According to these accounts, a suspect, a 20-year-old male with brown hair and eyes, was said to have donned a baseball cap, white tank top, and yellow and black shorts. During the confrontation, the suspect reportedly fired multiple shots towards the victim and his group. After the shooting, the armed individual, along with two other companions, fled in a black four-door sedan.
Investigators from the Southeastern Division are handling the case and were on the scene to collect evidence and interview witnesses.
