Manchester Police have apprehended 51-year-old Ramon Ayala following an investigation into an incident of child sexual assault reported in January 2018; the assault involved a minor under 13 years old. According to the information, a warrant was issued for Ayala, who was transient and believed to have left the state, making his capture more challenging, as outlined in a Facebook post by the Manchester Police Department.
The breakthrough in the case came this summer when law enforcement received a tip about Ayala's location and on September 23, Ayala turned himself into Manchester authorities; he is currently facing charges of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault, with bail set at $1000 cash, despite the presumptions of innocence until proven guilty Ayala will face a court hearing on October 1.
Considering the gravity of the charges and the extensive period before his arrest, the case remains active, and the Manchester Police are not closing the door on the possibility of additional charges. As the legal process unfolds, community members with any relevant information are urged to come forward and assist by contacting Manchester Police at 603-668-8711.
