It’s not every day that one's commitment to safety can be sweetly rewarded. Yet, the Public Safety team in the City of Mankato has found a unique way to gently encourage citizens to don their helmets and padding while biking or rolling through town. The team is now offering vouchers for a free ice cream cone to individuals visibly suited up in their safety gear, as per the City of Mankato, Minnesota Government.
In a distinctly laid-back style, the initiative seeks to not only incentivize residents to keep actively practicing safety but to also enjoy the benefits immediately. "Our Public Safety team is handing out vouchers for a free ice cream cone to anyone seen sporting their safety gear while biking or rolling around town," reads a post on the City of Mankato’s official Facebook page.
