Acknowledging the Forbes honor, Maricopa County Manager Jen Pokorski expressed pride in the County's ability to cultivate an admirable workplace environment, stating, "The County is committed to providing not only competitive pay but a work-life balance, opportunities for career growth, and benefits that provide a lot of value including low-cost healthcare choices, childcare benefits, robust retirement and pension plans, tuition reimbursement, wellness programs, and more," as gleaned from Maricopa County's announcement.
This recognition from Forbes arrives on the heels of a partnership between the esteemed publication and the market research firm Statistica, which embarked on an ambitious project surveying more than 160,000 employees working at various companies each employing a bare minimum of 500 individuals the responses from which were meticulously gathered and then devised into a scoring system that ultimately informed the rankings of the 'Best Employers' by state.
Human Resources Director Emily Parish relayed findings that appear to align with Forbes' analysis, asserting, "Forbes learned what we confirmed in our 2024 Employee Survey: people like working here, 93% of our employees said they were happy working at Maricopa County," she further elaborated on the commitment of the county to perpetuate the cultivation of a supportive work environment for their esteemed staff.
Maricopa County glowingly touts the myriad opportunities it avails to the over 14,000 employees entrenched across some 50 distinct lines of business, iterating a core mission to provide a workplace that not only fosters professional growth but also a balanced lifestyle, extending its appeal far beyond the mere financial gratification, substantiated by a suite of accolades including the recent Best-in-State Employer by Forbes, 75 Achievement Awards by the National Association of Counties (NACo), and the nation's top county by Site Selection Magazine for its prowess in community and economic development as highlighted on their careers page.
