The Ballwin Police Department is searching for four suspects involved in an armed robbery at Dahab Jewelry store located in Winchester Plaza at 14560 Manchester Road on Saturday, where they stole nearly half a million dollars in jewelry. The robbers, wearing masks of elderly faces, escaped in a suspected black Mazda, according to reports by FOX2now.
The robbery unfolded with concerning efficiency as employees of the jewelry store conveyed to KSDK that the suspects stormed in at approximately 11:58 am, and within a span less than two minutes later, they absconded with their illicit gains, a swift operation that has rattled the local community where such brazen acts of theft are not commonplace, leaving store owners and residents to reckon with a shattered sense of security.
"It sounds like Hollywood, but I can't believe it's happening here," Ben Chabane, a local resident, told First Alert 4, expressing his shock at the daring daylight robbery in an area known for its tranquility and low crime rates; the sentiment echoed by nearby business owner Jim Humphrey, when he explained how the unusual commotion at noon prompted him to investigate outside his Dimension Computer Store.
This recent incident marks the second robbery that the store has endured within a two-year span, as the Ballwin Police records indicate an earlier heist in August 2022 where the modus operandi involved a trio of suspects who distracted an employee to purloin several jewelry pieces, while the authorities have not confirmed any connections between the two events, they urge anyone with information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation—calls can be directed to the Ballwin Police Department at 636-227-9636, as the pursuit of these masked individuals intensifies in the wake of their latest felony.
