
A fatal traffic accident claimed the life of a Melbourne woman early Monday morning on State Road 520 in Orange County, as reported by the Florida Highway Patrol. The collision occurred at approximately 6:15 a.m. and involved a Mack semi-truck and a 2014 Honda Civic, according to details released by authorities, as reported by WFTV.
According to WESH, the Honda Civic was being driven by a 57-year-old Melbourne woman who sustained severe injuries and was subsequently transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. Despite efforts to save her, the woman was pronounced deceased at the hospital. The incident caused a temporary closure of the northbound lanes of SR-520, just south of State Road 528, near Christmas, but the roadway has since been fully reopened to traffic.
